Click and scroll heatmaps

See what visitors do on your pages

Traffic tells you how many people opened a page. A heatmap shows what they did there: what they click, what they skip, where they expect a link that isn't there and how far they actually read. Drawn right on top of your live site, not as a table.

See which ads actually bring in leads

The same script that connects your website to the CRM tracks traffic and detects the channel on its own: paid ads, search, social, email. Funnels show the path from the ad click to the lead, and heatmaps show what people do on the page itself.

  • Traffic and ad channels: visits by day and by source, and a UTM-tagged link with its own stats and a QR code for every platform
  • Funnels from any steps — visit, page, event, lead — with conversion and the time between steps
  • Heatmaps on top of your own site: what gets clicked, where people expect a link that isn't there, and how far each page is read

What a website heatmap is

A click heatmap colors the places on a page by how often people click them: red where clicks pile up, blue where hardly anyone clicks. A scroll map does the same for height: what share of visitors reached each part of the page.

Sitecog records the element that was clicked and the spot inside it, not screen coordinates. That is why the map stays on the right button on any screen width and survives small text edits.

Nothing personal is recorded: no text from the page, nothing typed into fields, no keystrokes or mouse movement — only where the click landed and how far the page was scrolled.

What the map tells you

  • Where people click

Hot spots on your real page and a list of the most clicked elements, labeled with their own text. Click a row and the element is highlighted on the page.

  • Dead clicks

Clicks on product photos, headings and prices that lead nowhere. Each one is a visitor expecting a link — usually a ready-made list of fixes.

  • How far pages are read

The scroll map shows what share of views reached each height, with lines at 75, 50, 25 and 10%. If your prices sit below the 25% line, three visitors in four never see them.

  • Desktop, tablet, phone

Pick a device and the frame takes its width, so clicks land on the layout they were made in.

  • Privacy by design

Consent mode works the same as for analytics, bots are filtered out and data is kept for 90 days. Text and form input are never collected.

  • Team access

Managers get View or Edit rights to the section. Turning collection on or off is recorded in the site audit log.

Up and running in three steps

  1. Add the script

The same one script tag that connects your site to Sitecog. If it is already on the page, there is nothing to add.

  2. Turn on collection

Open Marketing → Heatmaps and switch on “Click collection”. Within ten minutes every click and scroll lands on the map.

  3. Open the map

Pick a page, a period and a device — your site opens in a frame with the heatmap on top of it.

Live editing

Change your website exactly where customers see it

Visual editing the way it should work: open your website in the CRM, click a heading, price or image and change it right on the page. No clunky admin forms: a developer connects the site once, and after that every edit is yours.

  • Text, images, video, lists and product cards
  • Pick an image from your storage — or just drag a new one onto the page
  • Works with any stack: React, Next.js, Vue, PHP or static HTML

Questions about heatmaps

Do I need to change my website?

Only the widget script needs to be on the page. To show the map, the CRM opens your site in a frame, so the site must allow framing by the CRM — the same requirement as for on-page editing.

Does it record visitor sessions?

No. Sitecog does not record screens, mouse movement or what people type. It stores only which element was clicked, the spot inside it and how far each page was scrolled.

Which plan includes heatmaps?

Heatmaps are part of the Pro plan ($79 per 30 days), together with funnels, traffic, ad links and leads. You can try the section in the demo without signing up.

What if a visitor did not accept cookies?

If your site uses consent mode, nothing is sent until the visitor agrees — the same rules as for page views and events.

What happens when I redesign a page?

Clicks are tied to elements, so small changes are fine. If blocks move around, part of the clicks are drawn at their fallback position and the CRM tells you what share moved. Stable ids on key elements keep the map accurate.

Does it work with React, Vue and Next.js?

Yes. Navigation inside single-page apps is picked up automatically, and query strings do not split a page: /pricing?plan=pro and /pricing are one page on the map.
